About This Class

This FREE public class held in both our world peace temple and city meditation centre in Kensington is open to everyone and provides an opportunity to experience the peace of meditation and learn practical tools to solve our daily problems through application of Buddha’s timeless advice.

The teachings will be based on the inspiring book “The New Eights Steps to Happiness” written by the contemporary meditation master and founder of KMC London, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

The class will take place in conjunction with Prayers for World Peace – a short, simple and beautiful chanted practice that reminds us how to create the causes for peace for our self and others through recitation of verses taken from ancient Buddhist poetry.

What to Expect

What will each session consist of?
Each session will include a combination of teachings and guided meditations with an opportunity to ask questions at the end and socialize with like-minded people during the break time.

Do I need to bring anything or wear anything special?
No. All sessions will take place on chairs but there are optional cushions if you prefer to sit cross-legged. You don’t need to bring anything else with you, but some people like to take notes during the session, so feel free to bring a paper and pen.

What if I’m new to this?
Everyone is welcome to participate in this course and will benefit both new and experienced people alike. Our reception staff will happily recommend some follow on reading or classes after the course if you are interested.

Contact info@kmclondon.org and we will happily help you with your query.

“This is a very special place for me. Since coming several times a week for 6 months my outlook on life has completely changed and I have happiness in my heart.
The teachings on Tuesday night from Gomchen are extraordinary and unmissable and highly recommended.
I also attend Wednesday morning meditation class with Susan which I can also highly recommend and if you are interested later in going deeper then Thursday night’s classes are excellent.
Special events at weekends and at our new sister temple in Kensington are also so beneficial and life changing..
If you are fortunate enough to be able to come then do yourself the biggest favour and just do it. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself.”

“Each time I visit this place I feel very welcomed and inspired. Lots of what is said is so useable for daily life – for example how we can use patience to no longer get stressed out in traffic jams , or how we can live in the moment to let go of past stress and worries and simply enjoy . The large statues are beautiful and they have a little gift shop with books and little trinkets. Escape the hustle and bustle and find your inner peace. They are a friendly bunch so you can also ask questions too. Highly recommended.”
