Discover the power of love to solve your problems, awaken your spiritual potential and bring joy into your life. This inspiring weekend will include the blessing empowerment of Buddha Maitreya, the Buddha of Loving Kindness and teachings on how to grow our good heart as well as a commentary to The Yoga of Buddha Maitreya. Through developing our mind in this way, empowered by Maitreya’s blessing we can quickly reach the state of enlightenment.
10:30 – Registration & Refreshments
11am – 1pm – Empowerment of Buddha Maitreya
1 – 2:30pm – Lunch Break
2:30 – 4.30pm – Teaching on the Three Aspects of Love
10:30 – 12 – Commentary to the Yoga of Buddha Maitreya
12:30 – 1:30 – Guided Meditation
About The Teacher
Gen Kelsang Togden
Gen Kelsang Togden is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre London.
He began his studies of Modern Buddhism in Toronto, Canada, in 1993. He received teachings from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for the first time in the summer of 1994 at Manjushri KMC in the Lake District, and since then has been committed as his close student by making effort to study and practice his instructions.
Gen Togden is loved and admired by his students because of his practical knowledge and warm presentations, authentic teachings, as well as his natural joy and sense of humour. He usually has a broad smile and a good heart, making effort to put everyone at ease and to help them solve their many problems and anxieties with practical Dharma advice.
What to Expect
What will each session consist of?
Each session will include a combination of teachings and guided meditations with an opportunity to ask questions at the end and socialize with like-minded people during the break time.
Do I need to bring anything or wear anything special?
No. All sessions will take place on chairs but there are optional cushions if you prefer to sit cross-legged. You don’t need to bring anything else with you, but some people like to take notes during the session, so feel free to bring a paper and pen.
What if I’m new to this?
Everyone is welcome to participate in this course and will benefit both new and experienced people alike. Our reception staff will happily recommend some follow on reading or classes after the course if you are interested.
