International Kadampa Festivals

Every year the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) organises three International Festivals of modern Kadampa Buddhism taught by senior Teachers.

Spring & Summer Festivals are held at Manjushri KMC in the Lake District every year, and Fall Festival is held in a different, non-UK location each year.

This year for the first time, the International Festivals will be streamed online – enabling people from all over the world to attend from their own home.

Gen-la Khyenrab Festival
Manjushri KMC International Festival

These Festivals provide a precious opportunity to study and practice the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Founder of the NKT-IKBU. The Festivals consist of teachings, empowerments and meditations, with short retreats to finish. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of experience.

Besides the teaching and meditation programme, the Festivals also provide a precious opportunity to meet and practice with like-minded people from all over the world. You will come away not only refreshed and relaxed but also spiritually re-energised.

Spring Festival is a five-day event held at the end of May, and Summer Festival is a two-week event at the end of July / start of August. Fall Festival is a six-day event. The Festivals are truly international, with people attending from all corners of the world and real-time translation of the teachings into numerous languages.

You can also get involved by volunteering before, during or after the Festival (when it’s not being streamed online!).

Due to the current restrictions, this is an online event. Teachings will be available to view for two weeks after the event, to fit in with your schedule. Everyone is welcome to join online!
