We tend to become stressed and angry easily. Perhaps our partner disagrees with us; or work gets busy, and we struggle to stay on top of it; or we have the pressure of multiple competing demands from friends and family. We can even think that stress and anger will help us ‘win’ our battles, and we rely on it as if it were our trusted friend.
In truth, however, stress and anger solve nothing – they function only to destroy our inner peace, leaving a trail of broken relationships, lost opportunities, and painful feelings in their wake. In this course, we will learn skillful meditations that enable us to remain peaceful, flexible and patient in the midst of difficult situations and conflicts, thereby overcoming our real enemy, the painful mind of anger itself. Through this, we can develop real inner strength. With a strong mind of patience, our mind will become as stable as a mountain and as calm as the depths of an ocean, and nothing will have the power to disturb our peace of mind.
Teachings and guided meditations based on Geshe Kelsang’s book How to Solve Our Human Problems.
